What is Church Revitalization?
Dr. Alvin Reid in his book, Revitalize Your Church Through Gospel Recovery, lists questions that any church desiring renewal, revitalization, or revival must face and answer.
Where is your church? Is your Church a vibrant body of Christ, racing forward for the Glory of God and busy about the gospel? Or, does it demonstrate symptoms of stagnation or decline? Has growth been stunted? Does it function weekly as the people of God in your community, and at the same time seem as though a sort of numbness toward the gospel, the lost, maybe even toward each other exist? Has apathy replaced passion? What has been the gospel trajectory of your congregation over the past ten years?

The North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention shows the status of churches in America as depicted on the chart on the left to be Healthy, Plateaued or Declining, or at or near Risk. Which describes your church?
Church Revitalization Ministries offers studies, workshops and participation events that can give a body of believers the opportunity to begin the process of becoming alive with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians chapter 12 tells us that the church is a body, CRM guides a body of believers to focus on those things that are vital to the life of the body of believers as defined by the Word of God. To Revitalize is the same thing as Revival.
The process consists of an assessment visit by Dr. Tanner. He will begin with a one-on-one conference with the Pastor, moving on to visit with the Church Leadership, and then with the Church as a corporate body. Working with the local Church, Dr. Tanner will customize a plan of action to begin the journey to healthy revitalization.
